When you first arrive in Teton Valley, you’ll want to take a moment to get a feel for the space, stock up on the essentials, and soak it all in.
Morning
- Breakfast: Provisions, located on main street in Driggs, is the perfect place to start your day with a classic breakfast and all the warm, welcoming atmosphere the people of Teton Valley offer.
- Shopping at Broulims: After breakfast, head across the street to Broulims, our local grocery store, where you can stock up on snacks, drinks and groceries for your stay. They have a full pharmacy, too, just in case!
- If you brought your own bikes, then you’re all set! If not, you can rent bikes at several locations in Driggs including Endo Peaks and Peaked Sports. After getting your bike situation settled, take a quick walk around the central square in Driggs and check out the shops, farmers markets, craft fairs, and more, depending on the day of the week.
Afternoon
- Grab a quick lunch at Figgie’s Deli in north Driggs for hearty sandwiches, homemade chips, and tasty treats.
- Now you’re ready to ride! For a fun first bike ride in Teton Valley, take the bike trail that runs between Driggs and Victor. The Victor to Driggs Bike Trail is a paved north-south route that parallels Highway 33 and has beautiful valley and mountain views on all sides the entire way. This trail is a nice flat path, crosses a few side roads so make sure little ones keep an eye out, and usually takes about an hour to go from one town to the other.
- Take a break in Victor at the Emporium and have one of their famous huckleberry or espresso milkshakes before heading back to Driggs or your vacation rental.
- For dinner that night, we recommend checking out Teton Thai in Driggs for authentic Thai food and a great bar, or head across the road to O’Rourkes for a more traditional menu.
- After dinner, head back to your vacation rental and relax around the fireplace inside or fire pit outside and enjoy the stars and reflecting on the day.
Day 2: Test Your Skills Hiking and Biking
Morning
- Today let’s head to Victor for breakfast at Butter, where you’ll find a cozy place to enjoy delicious seasonal French toasts, breakfast burritos, coffee, pastries and more.
- For today, we’re thinking it’ll be fun to take a much longer bike or hike that can take you well into the afternoon. So after enjoying your breakfast at Butter, head to Victor Valley Market and pick up some sandwiches and road food to go.
- If you’re hiking, head to the Darby Canyon Wind Cave Trail. Click here for all the details.
- For mountain bikes, we recommend the Grand Targhee Mountain Bike Park, delivering over 2,200 vertical feet and 17 miles of lift-serviced downhill trails. You’ll find a wide variety of trails that fit any type of rider, from beginner to expert.

Safety When it Comes to Wildlife Encounters
Teton Valley is home to a wide variety of wildlife and it’s always a good idea to prepare for encounters when you explore our wilderness areas. You never know when you’ll run into a moose, bear, or other animals in our region, so it’s good to follow these simple guidelines from the National Park Service to ensure an enjoyable – and safe – time for all.
Rule #1: Give animals room. The best way to stay safe when watching wildlife is to give animals room to move. Stay a minimum distance of 25 yards from most wildlife and 100 yards from predators like bears and wolves. In general, if animals react to your presence you are too close. If you’re close enough for a selfie, you’re definitely too close.
Rule #2: Keep your eyes on the road. Vehicle strikes are one of the deadliest types of encounters for wildlife. Roads cut through their habitats or migration routes. As you are traveling to the hiking or biking trails you plan to visit, be sure to always follow the speed limits and watch for wildlife that may dart into the road. When you want to stop to watch wildlife, pull your vehicle completely off the road safely — this keeps wildlife safe as well as other motorists.
