Grand Targhee Resort
Grand Targhee Resort ("The Ghee”) is Teton Valley’s local resort, located on the western slopes of the Tetons in the Caribou-Targhee National Forest. It’s a year-round mountain destination and well-known for its consistent snowfall, wide-open terrain, and breathtaking views. Skiers visiting the Ghee have access to more than 2,600 acres of exceptional terrain on the Western side of the Tetons, including 6 lifts, 2,270 vertical feet, and an average of 500+ inches of world-class Teton powder.
Expert skiers and a few Olympians have trained here, but there’s also plenty for beginners and families. The terrain off the Shoshone lift is ideal for sticking to green runs, and you can even buy a Shoshone-only ticket. The Kids Adventure Zone is perfect for little ones and “big kids,” with runs designed to improve skills like balance, linking turns, and keeping your eyes forward.

Getting to Grand Targhee: The Ghee is located 5 miles from Driggs, Idaho, 45 miles from Jackson Hole, Wyoming and 83 miles from Idaho Falls. If you’re flying, it’s about a 90-minute trip from either Jackson Hole Airport or Idaho Falls Airport.
Jackson Hole Mountain Resort
Jackson Hole Mountain Resort has the longest continuous vertical rise of any ski area in the U.S., rising 4,139 feet from the valley floor to the top of Rendezvous Mountain. This world-famous ski resort has been the subject of countless documentaries, Olympic training, competitions, and attracts skiers from all over the world.
JHMR has 131 ski runs on the map with a range of 50% expert, 40% intermediate and 10% beginner difficulty levels. They also have more than 3,000 acres of backcountry access. You can get to all of this, including restaurants and a sky walk on the mountains, via a variety of lifts including “Big Red” (a striking gondola that can carry up to 100 people!), 8-passenger gondolas, and high-speed chairlifts.

Snow King Mountain
Wyoming's first ski area was the Snow King ski area, which opened in Jackson in 1939. Located just three blocks from Jackson Hole’s Town Square, you’ll find beginner to expert terrain overlooking Jackson and encompassing wild views of the Tetons. With more than 500 skiable acres, three lifts, a brand-new gondola, three Magic Carpets, and 41 named runs, Snow King is a world-class ski resort right in the heart of Jackson Hole. While Snow King Mountain may look steep, they have terrain for all abilities including a beginner zone at the summit, intermediate terrain on the backside, an easy way down the mountain, as well as some great steep runs.

Kelly Canyon Ski Resort is located just 30 minutes east of Idaho Falls.
