The Ultimate Fall Weekend in Teton Valley: A 3-Day Itinerary

Autumn in Teton Valley is perfect for so many reasons! The mountains and trees put on a glorious show with lots of golds, oranges, and reds. Our local wildlife, including moose, elk, and deer, are very active. The weather is warm during the day and cool at night, and the trails, rivers, and restaurants can be enjoyed without worrying about too many people around. 

One more great thing about Fall? Rates for many of our vacation rentals are reduced for the season, making this the perfect time to visit. If you’re planning a trip to Teton Valley this Fall season, we’ve put together a 3-day itinerary for you (plus a bit extra) so you know exactly what to do. 

Friday Evening

DINNER & A WALK: Check into your vacation rental and head to the Knotty Pine in Victor for a fun meal in a locally-loved log cabin style restaurant that also has a great bar area and live music on weekend evenings. After dinner, you can walk around Victor and either visit some of the shops if they are still open or window shop and decide who you’ll come back to the next day. 

Saturday

BREAKFAST: Head to Rise Coffee House in Driggs and enjoy their local-favorite breakfast sandwiches, trout avocado toast, and freshly baked pastries. Coffee, matcha, tea and more are on the menu and it’s a great place to start the day. 

Take a Scenic Fall Foliage Drive: From Rise, you’re in the right spot to start your next adventure, taking a drive to see some gorgeous fall colors. Grab your camera and start touring the valley. One of our favorite colorful drives is Horseshoe Canyon. It’s just west of Driggs (Take Bates to Old Horseshoe Road) and a beautiful spot for foliage, wildlife and mountain views.

LUNCH: Teton Moose in Driggs is located in the center of town and a great place for a relaxed lunch after your fall foliage drive. 

After you finish lunch, you’re perfectly positioned for a long walk exploring Driggs. 

DINNER: Treat yourself to a nice dinner at Forage Bistro at the Driggs Airport. You can sit in either the bar, restaurant, or outside (during warm weather) and have a great meal while watching small planes taxi in and out of the airport. They also have a free museum attached to the restaurant where you can see a rotating display of retired war airplanes. 

SUNDAY

BREAKFAST: Sunday morning is a great time to go to Butter in Victor for a sit-down breakfast that includes seasonal specialties and local favorites. 

After breakfast, take a bike ride on the path that stretches between Victor and Driggs. There are bike rental spots in Victor and Driggs if needed and they can direct you on the best route for your group. No matter where you ride, you’re guaranteed to enjoy mountain vistas on either side (Tetons & Big Hole Mountains) with colorful foliage and valley views you’ll love. 

LUNCH: You deserve a treat for lunch after all that exercise, so head to Driggs and visit local favorite Figgie’s Deli for creative sandwiches, soups, salads and homemade cookies and treats. 

After lunch, take a drive over the Teton Pass to Jackson Hole. From Driggs, it’s about 45 minutes of jaw-dropping scenery until you get there. In Jackson you can walk around the famous town square, take a walk by the Snake River, or head to any of their famous sites. 

DINNER: If you stay for dinner in Jackson, check out the Gun Barrel Steak & Game House. It’s legendary for a reason. Other great options, depending on your mood, include Pica’s Mexican Taqueria, Gather just off the Square, and The Million Dollar Cowboy Bar. 

MONDAY 

BREAKFAST: Provisions in Driggs is a great place to wind up your stay and a popular favorite amount locals and visitors alike. Fill up and replay all the amazing memories you created during your time here in Teton Valley – and maybe start planning your next stay!
